I took a four hour nap and it was dark already.

I didn’t. I watched a video on how to do it on a Camry and the guy made it look like a piece of cake. That bolt on the harmonic balancer is on there good. He didn’t even need to lock up the engine. My impact just hammered the shit out of it, but didn’t do anything. You can’t get good leverage on it with a breaker bar either.

    I’ll try again tomorrow.

Long Travel and cage the 5-lug, or slam it?

Dammit. I think I want to make it into a runner with a tube bed and a cage.

Thing about using a ratchet is you have to have a ridiculously long extension, and can't get good leverage. I checked the FSM and it's torqued to 183 ft/lbs IIRC. I'm sure the impact would zip it off once we get the bolt broken, but I can't even do that.

    God I had traverse engines.

    Yep. It's a 2001 Toyota Sienna with the 3.0l v6 1MZ-FE.

The harmonic balancer pulley is behind a panel inside of the passenger side wheel well. The water pump took a shit a couple weeks ago, seized up, and the timing belt also decided to shred itself.

Just look at this clusterfuck of an engine.

I respect RWD cars even more.

I hear you. Transverse motors suck. I remember doing the water pump on my escort. Such a pain in the ass, had the motor been facing the right way it would have taken ten minutes

I did the Power Steering pump on my friend’s 1994 Grand Cherokee. Keep in mind this is a CHRYSLER.

It was a piece of cake, because it was RWD the P/S pump was in the front. Where it’s supposed to be.

If I did it on the Sienna, it would literally be easier to just lift the engine out of the damn car.
