Limits your tire and brake options. 17 is really the way to go.

 

Same here... if I had to pick a model of turd gen tacoma. I wouldn't, it would be a choice between the new ranger or the Frontier

 

But I lose so much sidewall with 17s

 

Really, that just depends on the tire size you go with. I'm running 285/70/17 on the 4R right now, about a 32" tire and it still has almost 7" of sidewall. More than enough.

 

But you make up for it in bling potential.

 

Do you know if you can get 17s in steelies? Probably heavy if their available... im happy with the set of steel 15s I just got for $25 and have settled on 33x10.5x15 KO2s


That'll all be winter or next year stuff. My spring and summer is full of enough other maintenance work I'm not messing with tires just yet

 

how are the newer lil zr2's? Why not that over the ranger? ( I literally do no research on shit so pardon me )

 

I haven't seen a Chevy Colorado in person newer than a 2010 when my brother had one... that truck had the worst amount of down travel in the suspension I've ever seen in a truck
