There was one out here for sale awhile back, also a '73 if I recall. I posted a pic of it, clean resto with safari snorkel. They wanted $30k for it

Then there's the one my neighbor's got that's a little more decked out, if it ever gets posted for sale I might have to inquire though I'm sure he'll want a lot for it.

I think I'd have a hard time enjoying a fully restored vehicle, so much more pressure to keep it nice.

Ha yeah. My taco was beat up before I got it. I try to treat it well, but i don't worry about it, I just drive it. Then again it really needs some new paint, but I don't want to shell out for a pro paint job. Soooo. I dunno.

As long as people don't let them just rot away in a garage, I'm happy.

You might have already answered this but do you plan to inboard shocks on the front boxed sections? Also are you doing 12s or something else? 12s seem like a pain to get a good angle on keeping it under the bed. And one more question- do you know how much you will have to move the front leaf mount and rear shackle to work with the 63s?

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I'll be going slightly outboard. I've got a Sequoia axle I'll be putting in, I'll just punch through the edge of the wheel wells in the bed with some towers. I'll be running 14" shocks. I can give real measurements from a reference point when I'm done, I'm just going to mock em up by lining up the axle center pin location to 3/4 of an inch forward of where it is now since my old setup was favoring the rear of the wheel well.

This listing came up last July as I was ripping the front end off my 99. Was really tempted to scrap the 99 body, sell you the flatbed, and part it out. To fund fixing this up. Truck went straight to Mexico and will be parted out down there. Something about the 79-83 4WD trucks.

First gen sequoia axles are the same as tundra axles I assume? are you doing anything in the front to match the width of the rear? I forget the difference but I was thinking like 3" per side. Also interested to know what shocks you will be running. I'm interested to try 14" 7100s eventually because they are the same size as a lot of 12s.
