Yeah. A cute lil shop outside Sacramento, CA called Rock-n-Road Performance. They did a great job, I provided the rebuild kit. They had a PT Cruiser inside cut in half lengthwise - owner told me it was going into a rehab? Clinic.

How much did they charge you?
I know prices vary, but still curious

I have to dig up the invoice. I think I paid $70 a shock? That’s only oil and labor. I provided the kit so I saved some money. I only rebuilt the front coilovers. The rear shocks were barely used.

Yep $70 per coilover excluding the rebuild kit cost. This is with me dropping it off too. They weigh a ton and shipping would eat up the cost.

You mentioned TPM sensors in your build thread. 05 Tundra had those?

I'm shopping around for my first gen and one of the things that I'm debating doing when I get it is stripping it to the frame and covering it for rust protection. Would that be pointless cuz with DIY in my garage there's no chance I can clean and coat the interior of the box frame

That’s the thing, they rust from the inside out. Best thing you can do is just treat areas with obvious surface rust and coat the whole undercarriage in fluid film.

Love this guy's garage. Has a nice collection of cars. I have the same wheels, bumper, and antenna.

Once you get in there you'll see just how many nooks and crannies are there that would make a complete coating job nearly impossible. Your best bet is to hit it with fluid film annually and keep it clean.

Do y'all clean the inside of the frame? My engine had an oil drip that caused a buildup of oily dirt in the steering rack crossmember.

Its really salt and moisture thats the problem, I wouldn't be too worried about oil. The bulk of the damage on my frame is behind the cab, most of the stuff under the cab and engine area looks pretty good.

That said, I like things clean, so I'd probably clean it up anyway, much easier to find problems that way.
