Thats the Joule hotel, it was across the way from an apartment I lived in. Very cool hotel on the inside, worth checking out if you're in the area.

also, across the street from it:

I talked to the insurance company directly and they're saying that it will be the OEM glass. The dealerships around here aren't all the best .

Safelite work order they sent after shows the Carlex OEM P/N as well :)

So that's what happened to that. I saw it when it was in Chicago.

Weird public art makes me happy.

The company fabricated that is in Sparta, WI: https://www.fastfiberglass.com
They have a graveyard of fiberglass statues and molds: https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/fast-fiberglass-mold-graveyard

Come for the staircase toaster, stay for the wood paneled shower.

Cherry coke is a great choice as long as there is a shot or two of Jack in it.

Dallas has some cool stuff. We had a Henry Moore bronze sculpture at the intersection of 5th and Main for years when I worked downtown. The City moved it when they reopened Main St for vehicle traffic.

I think it's being moved to the Arts Center.

Yeah its not a bad place at all. I really liked walking around downtown, and then up north through the park and across the freeway. Walkable cities are the best.

I remember growing up that Dallas was like the nearest big town. So everybody went there to party, shop, or just get away for the weekend. There was some Southwest weekend flight packages for either $35 or $49 into Love Field. I almost moved there and went to work for EDS back in the day.

They liked to hire kids fresh out of school and lock them up on the computer room! Oh the stories.
