I guess I'm forgetting about the Yaris. It was a good car, just not a good fit. Plus the whole post breakup impulse purchase didn't sit well

Wife got an engine mount replaced on her RAV4 today, she took it to a shop near her old place in Hollywood. Looked at the bill and it was only $90 labor, seems way cheap to me for an engine mount replacement?

Anyway...had to take her to get the car after work, spent 2 hours in freeway traffic going in/out of the soulless hellhole that is Hollywood. Ready for a drink or 4

I'm not familiar with a RAV4 but I know when I did a buddy's entire front end work on his SRT4, the engine mounts (specifically the lower one), just needed to be raised slightly, have the wheel removed, and 2 bolts is all it took.

With the wheel off, it was literally a 2 minute job.

Ah ok yeah hers was probably easy like that then. I've heard it's a bit more of a pain with our trucks but maybe I'm thinking of having to do all of them

Yeah, but a front wheel drive (the SRT4) vehicle will have the motor mounted in a manner that puts the drive belts and other items to one side or the other (in many applications, not all of course).

If its the top wishbone looking mount then yeah, jack under the oil pan with barely any pressure, zip off two bolts and replace.

If it was the torque strut mount than 90 bucks is way high

Not bad at all. I bet they did some mechanic magic to crank it out in an hour or less.

Most shops round up to a whole hour even if it's an air filter

Maybe, but they had it for 2 days lol. It's a big garage though with a lot of customers, it probably sat around waiting until they could get to it. We dropped it off yesterday morning and picked it up tonight.
I was surprised it needed one, my wife swore the car had a bad vibration but I couldn't tell. Then again I'm probably just used to my truck and it's many, many vibes

Man she's a keeper if she takes note instead of ignoring the problems :D

I am hesitant to take my stuff to a place that doesn't have a wait when there's a good shop up the street that does... They are good and that is exactly why there is a wait :)

    Really though that's awesome.

Even more so than ever, people are busier than ever really trying to be something that they're not or too busy trying to create an issue about who (or what) they are.

On one end, its good to see that society is slowly accepting more openly how different people really are (whether it's a mental health issue, a disability, or simply a lifestyle choice or what have you) and not succumbing to the pressures of what a "man" or "woman" needs to be....but on the other end hand...social media does weigh heavily on "who you are" for all them likes and followers.

    Fucking double edged sword.

    Don't mind me, I'm rambling.

    Good on you though!
