Went and bought some lawn care stuff. Funny that the HomeDepot was more expensive than the small town power equipment guy. And the dude was able to start it up in the store and walk me through it. He just gained a customer for as long as I live there.

The echo weed eaters pretty nice. Bought one when I burnt up my dads a couple years ago, it’s still around.

Echo, nice. That's one of the things I loved about working at a small engine shop, customers really appreciate those little tutorials and I liked giving them because then if they did something stupid is was entirely on them lol

Yeah my dads got an echo pushing 15 years old. Only repair so far is a cheap carb kit.

The dealer had this or Stihl for the same price. I asked which one and the dude in line behind me said Echo so I went with it.

Tbh though I like how the Husqvarnas feel the best but all the places around here were either sold out or price gouging them.

I already knew pretty much all he showed me except how to re spool their fancy new trimmer head. I liked that he went out of the way to gas it up and made sure I knew how it works.

As a stihl dealer they're technically not allowed to sell anything to a customer without gassing em up and walking the customer through it... that's super cool he walked through the respool procedure as well, I never went through that effort lol

the homeowner grade stihl Kombi tool is junk in my opinion

Well I never woulda figured out the new re spool thing theyve got going on. Dont even have to take the head apart. Just stick the string trough the hole and wind it up.

That's neat, stihl had their own version as well that worked the way you described. Word of warning, don't bury the head in tall grass to try and cut faster... the line will heat up and when the heat transfers down the line into the spool, it'll actually melt enough to stick together and then it won't unspool at all and you have to take it apart to get it unstuck

@CS_AR Whats a good way to fill gaps in the boat deck? I used Great Stuff which is Urethane based but the Polyester resin I’m using melted and shrunk it and it looks awful. What did you use to fill gaps? I was thinking Bondo

I see some good comments about West Marine Epoxy products. So much has changed with products from when I worked on boats. They had some type of filer that they mixed up. It might have used Bondo.

Hard to measure crazy with just a few signs.

Maybe you should knock on the door.
