Got me a new outboard on Craigslist, because I’m 90% sure the Volvo sterndrive is gonna leave me stranded... eventually.

Old early 80’s Sears engine, I think it’s made in Japan by Tanaka Power Equipment. 7.5HP Should be enough to be a kicker/trolling motor. Two stroke, so that’s fun. Can’t afford a four stroke.

That kid I’ve been complaining about on here finally got his 4Runner impounded. No proof of ownership, insurance, Cali plates, registration, or any documents will do that. Only took literally two years of him driving it.

Yeah, using an outboard motor like this is called a kicker or trolling motor. When you’re fishing you don’t want to be running the main engine at low RPM because of overheating issues and fuel consumption, so that’s why you use a much smaller powered engine to just chug you along when pulling nets or lines behind you.

It also bonuses as a rescue motor if the primary engine fails. The primary motor is 130 HP, and the kicker motor is 7.5 HP. Won’t get you going full send ski boat speeds tho.

Try paddling a 3,000 pound fiberglass ski boat across the San Francisco Bay in the wind with wooden paddles lol

I've done a mod or two
You'll wish you had the paddles when both the 130hp turd and the 2 stroke turd that are both your age multiple times over decide to stop working at the same time

At that point you just go down with the ship so your family can collect the insurance payouts on the boat and your life insurance, they’d be a whole $54 richer.

Yeah, you're forgetting the part where they have to pay retrieval fees, burial fees, and eco restoration fees for your disaster of a boat going down. $54 insurance payout on a 75k bill
