I've done a mod or two
I'm thinking since it is a big block, torque shouldn't be a huge issue. Taller rear gear should be fine with how low first in a TH400 is

I have no plans to, it's just gonna be a fun street truck. I wish it was easier to get hands on a 4L80E and something to control it

No Llantera or pull a part yards?

They used to have stacks of em around here. I can see how they're going away though. They were very common in the 80s and 90s and most trucks in the last 20 years are on 16s or 17s now.

Where he lives is literally filled with llanteras and you pull yards. It was cheap automotive paradise, except the temperature and the crap grade scenery

Finally got my roof holes patched with rivnuts a couple weeks back, put some black button head bolts in them as I felt like the black wouldn't stand out as much as silver/chrome.

The first set of bolts had rust on them in a week, the second set I picked up got surface rust all over them overnight just from sprinkler mist.

Guess I'm going to have to paint them myself

I asked some local llantera and even a tire yard local that is for used tires. They seemed to know it was a "no" before even checking for me, weird.

That might be the root of it. If I needed 265/75/16 it'd be a dime a dozen I bet

If you're just using them as plugs, buy some aluminum annodized pan head bolts

Yeah they're just plugs, rivnuts were generously lathered in RTV before install and putting a dab on the bolts as well.

Looked up some aluminum annodized ones, can even get some in red...nice

Seriously, it's dry AF out here and they still somehow rusted overnight lmao. Must have gotten a little wet from our sprinklers. They basically turned orange in less than 24 hours.
