Just the ticket. I was told any and all aftermarket tint was illegal.

Right. Then why are there window tinting shops literally on every other street corner in the auto repair districts all over LA lol.

I have been told by others that I was told wrong, so who knows. Maybe it's changed now. I have heard you can get it done with doctor's orders like if you have light sensitivity or something. I probably could have fought it but that fine was tiny in comparison to the u-turn one so I didn't think much of it, other than the hassle of getting it removed and proving it.

 

are you talking about the windshield or a side window?

In CA, any tint on the front driver, passenger side windows or windshield is illegal.

What's weird is you had to get proof of removal.

I got a fix it ticket for window tint once (ex's Mustang), and removed it myself.

Had a buddy sign off the ticket (Salinas PD) and took it to the judge and was done.

 

In CA, front side windows and windshield are illegal to tint.

Can only have them legally tinted if you have a doctor's note; my uncle has one but don't know of anyone else.

He's still gotten pulled over and it's a hassle going over the fact that his tint is legal per doctor's orders.

 

yeah it was in Pasadena, they are notorious for being one of the worst towns to get a traffic ticket in because you always end up in court for it. I remember several people got sent home because their ticketing officer didn't show, unfortunately that was not the case for me lol.

 

Unless the county has some sort of added citation or something, you wouldn't need anything more than a ticket signed by law enforcement stating the violation has been fixed.

Take that to the judge and you pay your measly $20 fine or whatever it was.

It must be a Pasadena thing because they are their own city (not LA), their own city hall and own PD and all that. I remember getting the thing in the mail telling me when to show up in court and to bring documentation for the removal.

These guys need to pack it up, not qualified to call themselves a bomb squad if fireworks prove too dangerous for them to contain safely.
