    @6P4

Vehicle blew up some 50 feet away, but look at the impact on our trucks and the building we were occupying -

Hard to say how big the IED was but it wasn't that big.

Fair enough... but if you were to dispose of a "mystery explosive" of questionable power, would you do so in a populous neighborhood? At least when it's fireworks, it's an accident that it was so bad near civilians. When it's a mystery explosive it's now gross negligence and endangerment.

Forced gentrification... Though that seems counterintuitive for cops to remove their revenue stream

Yeah, I'm not trying to defend the squad. They clearly messed up in a big way. Like I said... "mystery explosive" is still 100% in the job description. They should have been able to handle it. I'm just particular about details.

I assume that the decision to detonate them on location was based on a belief that transporting them was even more risky. "LAPD truck full of confiscated explosives blows up while driving through residential neighborhood" wouldn't be a great headline either.

Glad you're okay after that. You need a job? I hear LAPD is hiring.

South central LA is, well...finding 5k lbs of explosives in a home probably didn't surprise anyone let's say.

At least not until they went off

haha I started to write out a post that they probably wouldn't have detonated it in a nice nice neighborhood but abandoned the thought

What's funny is, before we EAS, when some of us were doing our final physicals and such...LAPD came out to offer us jobs right out of the military.

They'd send us straight to the academy as to ensure us having a paycheck/job right when we got out.

    We all said NOPE

New lines and new receiver/drier and I have AC again for the first time in years.

Also saw this when I got home, looks interesting...

Only other thing is there's a droning sound when the AC is on, worse on throttle. I'll start with blower motor but not sure that's it.

    Woooooootttt!

Found a tech at a local Japanese specific auto shop that'll do my press work off the books (cause of liability) 100 bucks but it's better than me forking around with it that's for sure

Any of you guys have an extra OEM thermostat for a 5VZ?

Asking before I go ordering one and waiting forever; there's also the risk of it not coming with the round gasket/seal even if it is OEM.

$6k for a used supercharger lol, dude's crazy. They're cheaper new, so what if they don't have the TRD logo on them

The TRD ones are cause they stopped making them years ago, I'm assuming Magnuson still sells it like the 3.4l one but maybe not
