Why, they're both know for cold and nothing else. You'd think they'd get along if for no reason other than not being forgotten entirely.

It's trapped in rocks and the method of harvesting it is dangerous and inefficient. There's a reason that despite the oil business there is still zero economy in ND

Most people forget how left leaning Minnesota is. It's the California of the Midwest.

Most people think the ND's economy is strictly oil based and it's not true. I moved here during the great recession and couldn't have picked a better place to get a career level job. I've been with the same company for six years and I don't work in oil.

Besides typical commerce like retail and warehouse distribution what types of careers are available in ND?

Bobcat / Doosan is based in West Fargo and has two plants here

    Amazon

    Microsoft

    Blue Cross

Fargo is basically the tech and biotech part of the state.

There's this misconception that all we have is a few c-stores, some oil wells and soybeans, corn. Don't get me wrong the vast part of the state is farm land, but there are good jobs to be had outside retail and warehousing. The oil part of the state is confined to such a small area.

It's not just corn fields anymore. I would not be surprised if Fargo's population exceeds 300k in 20 years and the metro goes over 500k. It's growing so fast.
