And I was complaining about the ones that are hard wired to each other as well as having 9 volt batteries. They all chirp whenever ONE battery drops in voltage. But at least they aren't one time use.

It's giving the local burger shops a chance to be competitive with the big chains. Get better quality at the same price.

I really dont get McDonalds business model anymore. They used to be focused on kids what with the playgrounds at all the restaurants and had the characters to go with them. Nowadays no stores have playgrounds, and its a starbucks wanna be that also sells "meh" food above normal fast food prices.

Also, does anybody ever remember having to go park your car to wait on a drive-thru order 5-10 years ago? I dont. Seems theyve taken the fast outta fast food.

The ones in my parents house are all wired together. So if one goes off, they all go off. Then you play smoke detector roulette to find the troublemaker. Add in the dog thats throwing a fit and youve got a party.

I like the ones in my house, cheap and battery powered.

That’s the “uninsured motorist” clause. I learned my lesson from my motorcycle accident. The kid that hit me had super low budget insurance and my uninsured motorist portion kicked in after we maxed out his payout. It was my first time using an attorney for an accident but I learned a lot from that experience. No wonder people sue all the time for minor fender benders. There’s a lot of untapped money in insurance if you just go through the company itself.

It's unfortunate that you have to get into an accident to learn about that kind of stuff.

Such as loss of use; that amounted to an extra +$2k when my ex had a total loss and she was on my insurance.

Workin on the railroad all the livelong night. Those dudes work some insanely weird hours. Gotta have passion for it though. Id love to work for the railroad if it weren't for the unions, hours, layoffs, threat of going out of business all the time, etc...

Yeah, the schedule was like...gone for 3-5 days at a time and 2 back; more if necessary.

Good pay, good benefits, and they figured former military are used to shitty hours already, let's focus on 'veteran preference'

Yeah its a horrible career for a family man. Even for the guys that remain local. My cousin's husband is a diesel electrician for Norfolk Southern and works some weird hours.
