I'm surprised that happened. I thought houses had a magical way of appraising right at the purchase price.

That said, my contract included a gap clause describing exactly what would happen if the appraisal came up short. It was something like half the difference up to a certain dollar amount. I don't remember because the appraisal came up spot-on.

My home inspector had a 60 page list with all the issues. Besides the overly stupid problems that they absolutely have to list for liability (moss on the chimney, etc), Ive got probably 3/4 of them taken care of and Im now starting to get to do the fun stuff I want to do.

No houses nearby sold recently enough to reflect the recent increase in home values. So the appraiser went off of 2020 values. Their not supposed to do that, but it was too late to challenge it and it ended up getting me a lower monthly payment so :notsure:

We have 6 or so EV chargers here at work, every couple months an email gets circulated throughout the building telling people to be considerate and to stop unplugging other people's cars to charge their own lol.

On the odd occasion where I come in on the weekend, I like to park my truck in front of the EV chargers when hardly anyone else is around. They're right in front.

I'm guessing new members are only seeing them because they haven't learned to turn off email notifications like the rest of us

God, I totally forgot about it but you made me remember. I came to transfer my laundry and found my wet laundry sitting in the dusty corner of the laundry room of my apartment in OK.

yeah, I do not miss shared laundry rooms at all. Its bad enough I have to expect my MIL to ruin my clothes every time she insists on washing them, then drying them on high when she comes over a few times a year.

It's at the point now where I have to hide my laundry basket in our closet whenever she visits. She'll just go on autopilot and start picking up laundry to clean wherever she is lol.

I think it's the idea of buying a homebrew trailer built from scratch off of someone you don't know.

Gross. I mean, at least they would put it on another machine or something at mine. I admit I did it a couple times when it had literally been not moved for 6 hours.
