Before I flipped my thermostat I'd run 207ish all the time, little higher at times.

That is a little hot for a Toyota.

I think I was seeing 210 in Houston stop and go. in retrospect it was only a month after I got back that the head cracked

    I have mods
212 is fine for a Toyota. I saw that driving thru Death Valley in my 99. Actually, I think it hit 218. Just don't want that very often.

Agreed. Part of the reason I'm up so early, only time in the day for a bit of silence

Not the same assembly line at all but same factory, yes. Or it was made in a tent in the factory parking lot haha.

It's not open to the public but there's a bunch of old stuff from when when it was just a GM factory and later NUMMI if you ever have the chance to tour it.

Is your fan clutch still good? The only time my tacoma ever really got hot was when mine took a shit. Now it's basically locked from April until October driving around here, stays nice and cool tho even with my tiny 4cyl radiator and 3.4.

funny, my older guy got locked out on the patio couple mornings ago and i started to hear weird meow sounds. Came out and he was flared at another black cat creeping up the stairwell to him. Boi was about to lay the hand of god on him like that star wars scene, "I have the higher ground" sort of shit. Had to kick em indoors before it happened and he hissed at me out of being in attack mode lmaoo. now every morning he's meowing trying to get back out there again for another shot at fighting :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Get a little obdII dongle for $20 and the torque app for your phone ($5). Way cheaper and can do all the same stuff, just uses your phone so not as convenient.

Then you can use it to read and clear codes

I've read somewhere that the dash gauge will start to rise after 220° or thereabouts.
