Oh right. How did we come to the conclusion it draws at least 4amps AC? Is there some kind of formula or conversion I can use?

Another option I've seen at the marine store are shore AC>DC inverters thsat charge the house batteries. I think some of them run like 100-120 Amps. Not sure if it'll work for me though.

A comparable 10A 12V supply from my supplier draws 1.6A at 120V. 4A from a 40A supply sounds about right.

Im not a fan of pushing house wiring to the upper limits. Ive seen what higher amp draws can do over time (crispy burnt wires) and I wouldnt want that shit in my house.

Probably would as long as they’re not too smart

Good idea, comparing to other supplies.

I was going to run a brand new circuit over to this control box thing I'm building. I have one blank spot left - not sure if it can do 30A or it's only 15A.

Be careful about just cramming a 30A breaker in if its the only spot left. Dont want to overload the panel.

If youre okay with only running 2 lightbars at a time or so, you could run everything on a 15A circuit with one power supply if you do a control circuit using relay interlocks that only let you run two at a time.

Having space for another circuit is important, you could have space and be limited by the total load on the panel though depending on what else it's powering

How long do you want to run them? Could just have a few car batteries and a charger if they’re not running for hours and hours.

I've got the 240v NEMA 10-30R outlet I use for the air compressor and the Tesla charger... can I split one of the phases to get 120vAC 30A?

That could work too. I didn't think of that.

Probably not for crazy long, but I would prefer shore power.

@High Noon here's an example of the behemoth 30" handsaw we make... I do NOT wanna be the guy that has to run this, it's like 30lbs without a blade on it20210826_123316.jpg

Nah, if you have space you can add the 110v 30amp breaker. Just don't run the lights at the same time you're using the other 30 amp until you do a total draw calculation for the panel
