No dealership that I know of out here owns their own gas station. Not saying it isn't a thing, hell that'd be cool.

For gas, we always had a Chevron account with a card that gets paid every month; Shell for diesel.

It's hugely convenient for a dealership to have such an agreement with a nearby gas station (fuel is cheaper than advertised), and the gas station has continued business.

So it takes the place of the transfer case and does lower gears?
I wonder how strong it actually is...what's the weak point on the stock 4x4 transmissions?

I don’t know how it works. Pretty sure you use it and the stock case.
The combination let’s you get into a really low gear ratio (maybe it’s big idk), letting your truck crawl over stuff with our really using the throttle.

but that could all be wrong, Someone that actually know s may chime in.

Sorry, my last post was harsher than I wanted it to be, partially thanks to speech to text. My thought would be to solid axle swap your truck if you insist on having 4WD. But, and this is the tough love portion, the 5 lugs put you in the worst place to start that adventure. Your fenders are narrower, you have no transfer case or a trans that will work here, your frame actually drops down even lower than a 6 lug so you'd need to hack off not only the IFS mounts but also the frame itself and rebuild it with clearance for your solid axle, and you'd also need to source a more stout rear axle. This is just for a basic bitch leaf spring SAS too, and frankly you can do better than that for travel and comfort IMHO. Now here's the upside, they make pretty bomb IFS long travel kits for 5 lugs, like serious travel. You just have to be okay with no 4WD, which in the desert is doable, just don't wheel alone in unfamiliar territory and you can have tons of fun with a LT 5 lug. @MadTaco461 has a wicked 5 lug LT build, that I would copy to a tee if I found myself with one.

Depends how you have the tq wrench on the deal but I'd see in most scenarios you add torque

I had forgotten about these. This should be mounted on top of a Dodge Ram 4x4 with some big ass tires.

Mkay. Cuz I need to get the stuff for 4x4 conversion at some point and I've been interested in crawler boxes as well

I’d worry about the 4x4 thing first

And then decide what you really need after that

Why convert twice though ya know? If its a direct transfer case replacement, I could just get that instead of a take-off

I think that one you posted does actually, its a gear drive conversion case, it just doesn't let you choose low ratios, you get 4.7 or hi range

I think its still illegal to pump your own gas in New Jersey. Must be a license requirement.
