Most of that stuff is just there to keep honest people honest man. Window locks are pointless when they chuck a brick at it and reach in to unlock it.

The sheriff showed me the live feed at his house through Blink wireless cameras. Looked great, sends motion alerts to your phone and its something I can afford. Id love to put something really nice in but unfortunately I have to replace what was stolen and a window on top of everything.

Window Locks are clamps locked with a small Allen key that prevents the window from sliding part a certain point. Though if your windows don’t have ironwork in em they’re meh. If you laminate your glass, it’s like bulletproof glass where an object won’t penetrate it. It’ll just crack but the glass won’t come out of the frame.

Ill look into it. Thinking of what this is gonna cost me is making me sick.

What happens when your house is on fire and you need to get out through said window that only opens part way?

I recently upgraded my deadbolts to the Grade 1 type, put in elongated strike plates (they came with longer screws), and added reinforcing plates. I did a lot of research and contemplating before I chose these but I have the peace of mind feeling that I've done most of what I can do. Anyone who wants to break in just needs to break a window, so there's not much benefit beyond this.
I do have a couple BNC wired security cams but I want a dedicated DVR so my server isn't using more power than a security subscription would cost.Windows already have locks.
