Nah I'm doing whiteline. In all reality I would've come out ahead just buying new OEM arms. But I also need a press for a lot of other things so decided to eat the cost now.

Yup. Have a set of manual hub spindles sitting in a corner. I'll do wheel bearings and upper ball joints on them so when the bearings on the flatbed die it's an easy swap.

Can confirm, a good hacksaw will go through the bushing sleeves pretty easily. You'll probably still nick the arms, but not so badly as with a sawzall.

Things will work better if you find some sort of press adapter that will press against the sleeve instead of the rubber. A socket or maybe a washer even.

If you have the press adapters around, Timmah's bearing-splitter method might also work. I used it for UCA bushings. I don't remember if it works for LCA bushings, though.

I'm following Tim's second video exactly at this point. Had some press adapters sitting around already and just got the bearing splitter in the mail today. I hadn't considered using a hacksaw honestly.

I used a hacksaw to notch the lip of the UCA bushing sleeves so I could bend them back to make room for the splitter. Tim used a chisel for that, but I found the hacksaw to work better. The saw cut through the lip no problem. Only took 5-10 minutes per bushing once I got the hang of it. I used a utility knife to peel off some of the rubber. I'm not sure if that was actually necessary in hindsight.

I, too, have a stack of wheels occupying floor space.

We should start a club. Or a support group.
