Then mounting it under the hood would make it even more pointless as the engine bay is a Hot, Dusty and oily environment. If its so easy to pop the hood and connect two wires, why spend the big bucks on an ARB compressor. Need conversation ideas for my hot date tonight.

If it’s mounted in the engine bay that one else thing that being kicked around in the back of the cab or toolbox.

Cause storage space is important.

 

Air compressors are mounted in the engine bay all the time. Military HMMV’s with the central tire inflation system has the compressor right there next to the intake manifold.

 

Aren't those engine driven or are they electric?

Wiping is more about feel. I know, I've been to India.

The question isn't about how far up, its about how far down.

 

Protects it from the elements. And you can route a hose to the outside for easy access to air when you need to air up tire.
