I used to go to the public pool all the time as a kid too, the thought of public pools now sketches me the F out though. I don't care how many chemicals they put in it, you know all those kids and drunk dads are pissing their trunks

My first job at 17 was as a lifeguard for Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags, the number of times we'd have to clear out the pools or rides because someone released a floater was insane. Although a few times it ended up being a Babe Ruth or Snickers

Appliance place had no problem swapping the 4ft cord but all of the 6 foot ones have the wrong plug apparently.

Guess i get to go to Lowes to buy a new plug anyways. I'm tired

    Liked to unlike.

    Sorry about the frustration.

But yeah I ran into the same thing some years ago as well; "where's my power cord?"

Hopefully you find a long enough cord soon, otherwise you'll have to make one yourself.

That or change the receptacle to accommodate the power cord you have now?

Yeah that receptical does look ancient. Would be good to move to the newer 4 prong ones.

I could add a box and change the outlet... I am 100pct sure it is not wired for 4 prong though

I'd consider just running a junction box to a conduit to a new outlet, then using the 6ft. That's basically what I did in my garage for my compressor. You're going to be hand making something anyway, maybe make it permanent for the next person?

You can jump the neutral/ground for 3>4 prong. I forget if 3 prong misses the ground or the neutral wire, but either way its not losing safety if you already don't have it.

3 prong has no ground, only neutral

I know I could but I don't want to fuck around and give someone down the line the impression that it is wired correctly with a proper neutral/ground

Actually I think that's backwards, but ya I feel you on the misconstruction.

Also just confirmed, 8/2 wire is 2x 8ga + ground
