They always come with washers you're supposed to put under those bumpstops.

Not a bad idea. I’ve got a little bit on the sides, but that’s it.

Or I could just wear pit vipers…

If I found a car I liked enough to keep for more than a couple months I'd spend the 300 bucks

That happens when they loosen up than when the bump smacks the frame it breaks off the spot welded nut on the inside

Why did manufacturers start making tie rods out of aluminum?

I saw the tie rods out of a new Silverado 2500... They were smaller than the inners on our trucks and made of aluminum

    Wtf?

Those are famous for breaking, it's why the Duramax guys always convert to the heavy bulletproof iron ones

Not only does it help on the drops, but also when you've got to 'bump it' up and over -

Probably when they realize 90% of their sales go to guys whose maximum offroading is when they run over the dirt kicked up by the guy they just ran off the road without indicating or checking their mirror

Because Coke furnaces used to make new steel were outlawed in the US but electric smelting of scrap steel and aluminum are legal.
Auto makers are left with the choice of Might Break or Light Weight might break and don't need paint.
