Don't forget that TurboTax and Intuit are part of the reason why taxes suck so much to do because they actively fight tax reform

 

I’ve made the call. Selling my camper shell. Those windoors are poorly designed and I can tell where past owners or the dealer tried to stop the leaks. With it’s leaks I’ll ask $400-$500 rather than the $1000+ 1st gen DCSB shells seem to go for.

I didn’t know any better when I first started doing taxes because my parents pushed it on me. It was free for me back then at least. Using freetaxusa now too.

 

I'm not the best at DIY filing, I pay an accountant now and he makes my life so much easier

 

Havent checked but id go a sequoia axle or 8.8 if they're that sparse good points tho lolol

 

Same, I hated doing them. My wife is working on her CPA and loves doing it. I'm glad she is smarter than me with this kind of stuff.

 

Safe to assume about 30% of what you earned will have to go back for taxes, less if you're good about writing work related stuff off and all that. That's why it's a good idea to have an accountant if that's a major source of your income, they'll help you keep as much as possible.
That was my least favorite part of freelancing for all those years, goddamn tax season

It's so worth it. I didn't finally get an accountant until my last couple years freelancing and it was worth every penny. Now that I'm married filing jointly though my wife's business accountant takes care of it, soooo much easier

 

I don’t even bother to try myself. I tried doing corporate tax returns last year and I gave up. The fee I pay my accountant to do all three of my tax returns is worth it.

 

My wife's taxes are 1000% more complicated than mine are, I dunno who finds the idea of a doing corporate and small business taxes enjoyable but I'm glad those people exist
