State line is always fun. I live about 5 miles north of the casinos. We are even getting a hockey rink/events center. Next week's going to be a mess do to presidents week, but after this it will be calm till July.

Yeah it's in the parking lot. Edgewood donated the land. Montblue got sold and is now going to be Bally's Lake Tahoe. I hope we get some preseason NHL games. Kings sharks or Kings nights would be awesome.

I painted a bike once. The prep work is tedious--so many little nooks to sand. If you can media blast, have at it. If not... I vote to send it as-is.

 

A patent application is no guarantee they'll take the idea to market. It might be just an interesting idea some engineer had. I have a hard time believing that any major automaker would spend the money to engineer and tool up a fake manual when real manuals are already virtual non-existent.

I'm speaking from a US market perspective, though. Maybe the economics make more sense in other parts of the world where manuals are still common.

Fun story: I was in England in 2007 and someone asked me "What's it like to drive a car with an automatic transmission?".

 

True, but don't the electric Ford Mustangs have this option already? A manual trans with a clutch that's only there for the feel. I figured Toyota might be looking to do the same, either way I feel like it wouldn't be the same with a fake clutch. I wonder if it will force the electric vehicle to shut off/stall if you mess up the shift just to add to the authenticity lol.

 

Huh... I hadn't heard of that (granted, I don't follow new cars that closely), so I gave a quick search. All I came up with was the "Lithium Mustang"; a concept car Ford built for SEMA a few years ago. It had an actual Getrag 6-speed. Is that what you're thinking of?
