I snagged a full set of 5100s off a junkyard truck yesterday. The fronts have 881s on them. I'm worried it'll be too much spring for a wee little 2.7L standard cab, but for less than $70 I'm willing to give them a chance.

Yeah it might be a bit tall. Any plans for the rear to level it out?

this is where mine sits, need to finish the bastard packs.

Lake county is strict compared to most counties in indiana.

but that 4 car garage with what’s basically and apartment upstairs is indeed up to code. Lol

You've got a lot of space under those front fenders. I remember you're running a slightly smaller tire (28"?), but I'm only running skinny 31" (245/75r16) myself so I'm expecting it to look a little gangly. Buying new coils won't be the end of the world if the 881s are too tall, and I can sell the take-offs to recoup some of the costs.

I ordered a set of Deaver J59 last week, so finding the shocks was quite a stroke of luck.

I'm anxious about the Deavers, though.. bilsteinlifts.com had them with free shipping, which seems too good to be true. I haven't gotten a shipping confirmation yet, so I'm still half expecting them to call me and say "we made a mistake and had to cancel your order".

If that happens, I might go the bastard pack route as well.

    28.8” dammit

sounds like a plan to me. They’re easy enough to change that it’s nbd if they don’t work out. Good luck!

In other news... today I learned that the rear mud flaps are different depending on the presence of fender flares.

My truck came with the chrome wheel arch trim.

I snagged some mud flaps off a '98 TRD that had the fiberglass flares (unfortunately the flares were all damaged in the crash). The TRD mud flaps have a cutout to match the profile of the flare.

I also installed some '01+ flares on my truck. The OG (no flare) mud flaps didn't fit well with the large flares--too much interference. The '98 TRD flaps fit better, but still had some interference. That tells me that 01+ flares must have their own mud flap profile.

I cut mine on the 04 to the flare profile since I think they're off a 98.

It's too much money to make over 800 horsepower with those. And the lack of bottom end torque with this big ass fucking truck would really suck
