Lce had cams for it, but they pulled them off the website a few years ago

 

I just tried to find an evidence that someone has cammed a 5VZ, no dice. It's really not a performance motor and it would be nightmare to get the valve timing ideal with only one gear having the possibility of adjustment per head and the other being driven off the original.

I just can't fathom how people can do that to a truck. Is it even functional?

 

As far as performance goes, they left a lot on the table, the 5VZ is very low power for its displacement and EFI system, but it is very reliable and it makes torque where it should for a truck engine. But there's lots of power to be had NA, with boost there is even more. But the construction of it makes some of that really tough, that and Toyota and others don't really make speed parts for it so you're on your own for a bunch of it.

 

Looks like it has less function than when it left the factory, but I imagine it goes down the road well enough.

 

I never understood those 'scaffold' lifts.

so besides a supercharger, and meth/water injection and fuel mods. your on your own. such a unloved engine

Supercharger and headers are basically the only things made specifically for it. Water meth is custom for every application and you still need a way for your computer to understand what its doing to the fuel trims, and the stock ECU isn't even tunable you have to piggyback it or replace the POS entirely.

 

Those head light are dope as fug.

 

looks like a engine swap looks more like a better option in that regards. but for a truck engine its real good in stock form.
