    I hope it was but it didn't sound like it, I mean I guess if you're serious about priming an oil filter then that would be one way to do it but damn

    Doesn't the oil you pour in flow through the filter to begin with anyway? Or is it just straight to the sump?

    :notsure: after doing an oil change there's a split second that the oil pressure light stays on after startup. I've assumed that's the extra second it's taking the oil to go through the new filter, IDK. I always thought thats what people who primed theirs were trying to avoid. Hasn't been an issue though for me

    plus with the 5vze's oil filter if you try filling it first its just gonna pour out when you go to screw it on

    Straight down to the oil pan. The filter is in line after the oil pump, filtering after it comes out of the pan.

    Takes a split second to fill, and all of the inside of the engine still has a good film of oil on it anyway.

    That's why you tilt the engine over so the filter is vertical and won't spill
