Some people are just programmed to believe that they can’t stand on their own.

I wanted to convert my 94 blazer too, it had the cutouts in the firewall and everything. Those 88-98 trucks shared *everything*

I made a new friend yesterday while volunteering. One of the calmest horses I've ever worked with by far.

Some people need something to believe in; can't fault them for that.

Everyone is different, and it took me some time to realize that; I'm very desensitized, and I mean very. So it was too easy for me to tell others "quit being sad" or "quit being depressed" cause in my own mind, I was able to push away my own feelings of guilt, anger, sadness (to an extent).

Much of that is from my own upbringing, including my military career; this ain't about me though.

It's about feeling empathy, being emotionally mature enough that you could very well help someone that may need it. Since realizing this some years ago, I try my best to be that support for friends and family.

Be a king, and let's be there for others when they need it.

From what I've read, the bolt location is visible in the stamping. The weld-nut isn't there, though. I crawled under the truck to check already.

Good-ish news is, pulling the carpet on a regular cab with a bare rear wall is easy. There's nothing securing the carpet at the rear of the cab. I can almost pull it far enough to check without taking anything apart but the seatbelt bolt is in the way.

Exactly. Empathy and understanding where people come from is huge. Peoples upbringing can put them in some really weird places.

I know a guy who was introduced to some pretty hard drugs at the age of 12, by his mom. He’s a total asshole, drinks like a fish, and is barely holding a job. It’s so hard to approach people like that - I know the background, but it’s difficult to get around how they behave, and protecting myself from their problems.

Learned a lot from a few key people the last 5 years or so, it’s amazing the difference perspective makes. Glad you’ve found a way to get there, it’s not easy.

New gas lens and clear cup, who dis -

    20220310_082323.jpg

First few welds were not only easier to pull off as puddle control was made easier, but they also looked better.

The ball on the electrode however grew slightly sideways which caused the arc to completely go off-center. Seems with the gas lens, it's easier to weld, but the arc then becomes a bit more temperamental.

I was thinking the same, but you said it better than I would have.

Religions promise that no matter where you are now there's something better ahead. That external motivation is important for some people. I think that's why you see more religion in poor, elderly, or otherwise struggling populations, and why middle-class America isn't as religious as it used to be. Some people just don't feel the struggle that pushes them toward religion.

    You're very right.

I don't have anything against people being religious, as long as they don't push it down my throat. But I'm actually atheist, and really it's because of the stuff I've been through.

Some have asked "wouldn't you of all people, be a believer" and I reply with something along the lines of having found strength in myself. But yeah, some people need it, others don't.

I'm an atheist, much of America's vices and groups sound like cults to me.
