It’s kinda funny. Experience seems either push people deeper into religion, or out. For the rest of my family, deeper in for sure. For me and everyone else I know, out by a mile. I wonder if it’s a generational thing.

Damn. I fried up some mushrooms I needed to eat, put some feta in them and sprinkled them with some spices. Gonna have to do that more often..

Going wheeling in WV tomorrow and over the weekend. Supposed to be 64 and sunny Friday, then sat morning, 30* and 6"+ of snow. I have a feeling I'll be driving home sat night because F camping in 9* overnight lows.

I haven't been snow wheeling since my jeep days in college, I'm looking forward to that!

There are anonymous groups that are way less religious and cult-like that some, but most of them are very religious and cult-like, even if they say they aren't. The whole "you don't have to believe in god" is largely used to attract those people that are on the fence because of the religious aspect. Virtually every meeting you go to includes the 'Lords Prayer' which is a funny way to contradict themselves.

But my biggest issue with AA/NA/etc was that I didn't want to live the rest of my life focusing on some awful choices I made in my 20s. Those programs basically ask you to keep those memories front and center so you don't forget what it did to you and where you could end up again. And I can understand that mentality may be necessary for some people. But I just couldn't see the rest of my life revolving around the worst few years I'd had. After a little more than a year of it I was out, think that was about 13 years ago now.

I look at it like I do religion in general, it's not for me because it doesn't make sense to me. But if it does for someone else and keeps them alive and productive, then more power to them...just don't try and push it on me.

I would rather talk about our demon overlord, currently known as the oil and gas industry because soon its going to cost me $150 to fill up my truck :spending:

I feel bad for anyone with a 32 gallon Tundra right now, woof

I was telling Rebecca this morning that they're saying gas is likely to hit $10/gallon by summer maybe higher (in CA)...so I'll be needing a ride to/from work lol.

Surprisingly the Rav really doesn't get great mileage for a modern SUV, but then again it's a 2013. It gets around 22mpg I think.

I have a friend that lives near me who works in this building, but for a different company. He's been riding an e-bike to work for several months.

It's about 6 or 7 miles from work to home so it's not bad. But during morning/afternoon commutes traffic can get busy on the streets and people are assholes trying to get to/from home & work. I don't want to be on a fucking bike around all that lol. Seems like a death wish

Thinking about how that mint 1986 Corolla slipped through my hands a lot lately. Would’ve been a wonderful daily.

My landlord’s emotionally/mentally unstable 25yr old daughter is dailying it still after it was run low on oil last fall. It’s knocking but doesn’t want to die yet. Power steering system survived being run without a reservoir cap as well. I suspect the transmission will be the first thing to go as it’s slipping a lot more lately. Original 1986 ATF can’t be good in 2022.

@Running Board Man saw it pull up as he was leaving.

@JKO1998 have you heard about this show coming out next month

Looks like Amazon trying to snag Yellowstone viewers but...darker. Looks promising, plus Josh Brolin is usually in good stuff.
