The plot thickens. Whoever worked on this prior was an idiot.
Lady probably came into the shop complaining that her radio and lights stopped working. Mechanics trace back problem to her gague cluster. They probably remove all the bulbs to try to narrow down the issue. Call lady and quote her on new cluster, or suggest they can fix everything else if they kill the back lights, so she chooses that option. So they cut a trace (pictured).
Great, normally a non-ideal fix, but a fix nonetheless. EXCEPT. There's a bolt behind the cluster that has no business being there plainly shorting out the same trace further downstream. I removed that bolt earlier. And there's a big crater on the cluster where it was hitting the bolt and grounding out the positive rail. Pure genius.

I'm betting there was a little resistor (even a 000 jumper) they just popped out (see other post above)

Can't keep ignoring this one. Driver side of my 04's engine has had a pink SLL coolant residue and signs of it dripping on components below it for a while now. Kept hoping it was a leaking water pump but nah... too far out of the way. 140K on the dash but if I'm tearing that far in I really should do more than replace the head gasket. It just feels dumb not to.

But at that point why don't I just become Dan and rebuild the entire damn truck.

Could be that tube instead? Would need a clearer pic of the gasket sandwich.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
thats usually corrosion that causes that. the head may be the issue.. the 3.5l engine like to do that on occasion... reason i paid nothing for my running one.

I'm definitely losing coolant still after solving my Koyorad radiator problem. Water pump is leaking too but it was done by a shop the week I bought the truck so I blame them. Last time a shop touched the truck back in 2017 after being dealer serviced it's whole life under the previous owner.

So I'm guessing I have to plan for at minimum one head and both head gaskets? Might as well do exhaust manifolds while I'm in there as well as engine mounts and any rubber hoses I remove. And if I'm doing the water pump I might as well do the timing belt AGAIN since it's at 30K but 5 years old.

I could also just leave it for now since it's just leaking externally at the moment.... I'm moving soon and need the truck to tow a trailer back and forth between houses.

heads can be surfaced. its not always the issue. but its what i've seen be the issue. personally i would just monitor it and do nothing currently.. clean it off and see how quick it comes back
