I guess one of the latest TikTok challenges is for kids to shoot someone unsuspecting with frozen water beads now and authorities are considering it a felony.

We have probably a million of them all over our backyard (great toddler toy but messy AF). hopefully no one sees our huge water bead ammo stash

One of the reasons our company shut down it's e-commerce department was because the owner was getting threatened with a big lawsuit over not having a "blind friendly website". Yes that is a thing and yes they go after big companies all the time for it, crazy as it sounds.

I did some reading up on it and there is a group of lawyers that basically do just that, hunt for websites of big companies that don't have blind friendly websites and then sue them for big $. It's less about doing the right thing and more about the money.

yeah it's some kind of program integrated into the website that narrates everything. I assume there are special voice activated controls and what not, doesn't sound like something you could easily build into an existing (huge) website without the cost being crazy high.

the department wasn't doing very well already and that was just the nail in the coffin for it. Company switched over to wholesale exclusively, still have a website but need to be an approved vendor and be given a login for it.

 

I would urge you to research the colossal shit show it resulted in.
There were some businesses that literally closed because they couldn't afford the retrofits required of them

Oh I’m sure, but I’m sure there was some good. I have a class in a building rn where the only wheelchair accessible entrance is on the opposite side of building than the elevator.

I bet the elevator wasn’t even originally in the building.
