His videos all date after I had learned from elsewhere and had mostly done all of that to a taco. I have friends that watch his stuff though and have me reference it when they ask questions. There's no doubt the videos have value to new members and randos on YouTube and FaceBook as well I'm sure. I'd just prefer not to watch it. Hes plenty knowledgeable I'm sure but falls into that category of personality that comes off poorly on video.

. I'm one of those weird people that prefers a write up over a video tutorial. Just prefer to have each step right there without having to skip through video looking for the key points

His videos were helpful when I first changed out my rack bushings and then with parts of my lift install. Used several resources for the lift install really - youtube but more importantly TW. In fact Zane put up with a shit ton of questions from me over DM and was major help when I was getting the coilovers installed (haven't forgotten, thanks again dude). Have referenced many of Tim's vids and have picked up at least something to get the job done.

If it wasn't for his vid on the hub swap (as well as Jordan's and a few others), not sure if I ever would have tackled it. If I hadn't, probably never would have started this conversion project. Have no issue with admitting I've learned quite a bit. Having that visual walk through is important. A write up here is fine but watching someone actually do the job helps big time.

Has there been a moment or two where I haven't liked his politics/approach? Sure. Of course. Then again, lot of that snubbing goes on around TW as well. Can't even count how many times I've watched as new folks coming in looking for help are sniped and given crap by even some of the more seasoned vets. Sucks to see that.

I look at it this way, if I can help - I'll do it, without copping attitude. We all started somewhere and needed help. No reason not to pass it on. Without a doubt, TW continues to be a massive respository of Toyota knowledge. Why it is still around I guess. To those that have helped me get through a job on the truck, thanks - much appreciated.

    Cheers gents and ladies.

You have one picked out yet? Buddy of mine I grew up with (next door neighbors), switched careers in his early 30s and attended California Culinary Academy SF. Works as head chef now and definitely knows his dishes.

Good luck bud. Stick with it.

Sometimes there's a place for both, especially if there's a trick necessary

But yeah, I like printing instructions so I can check without having to clean up and use phone or computer. I've got exploded parts diagrams pinned on the wall to check for reference lol

That's where water-less soap comes in handy ;)

Nothing makes a mod-day more complete without awkwardly trying to pull off your nitrile or mechanic gloves, trying to keep your hands as clean as possible, just to check your phone or computer for something. Only to get frustrated the second or third time around and finishing the job with your bare hands relying on said soap to keep them clean.

Do this a minimum of 5 times per job :burp:

    There's the R I was looking for!

Seems weird to me, a mall is still operational enough to need you to show up.. but dead enough it can leave that much real estate so empty
