Speaking of welding, I want another welding hood.

One just for home and one just for work.

They accumulate after a while. I've got em lying all over. It's like having a grinder for every type of abrasive haha, speeds things up.

Garage is only 20'x20' poorly organized, chemicals everywhere, gas cans on one wall. Yeah, deciding to not mig or stick is not being overly fearful in the slightest. In a bigger shop where all that shit can be kept far enough away, sure go for it. But Id still be leary in an attached garage and utilize welding blankets and whatnot. Less so in an outbuilding.

I think there's three in my shop, two of mine in my buddies shop, and one passive shield in the truck for trail repairs.

Let me be honest though, I cant even remember the last time I had to weld at home. Been a few years.

Probably oughta sell the shit and reinvest the dough into another hobby.

I dunno what size my old garage was but it was plenty easy keeping it safe enough to weld and it was packed full. Fuel got stored outside in a deck box and chemicals were on a shelf that got covered with a welding blanket. Grinder sparks were shot everywhere in that place too. Now all I use the blanket for is myself so I don't get burnt all over, it is fairly easy to keep everything away now since I only put one vehicle in at a time for work.

I really want a welding setup I can carry with me, well really just a stinger and ground cable with clips to attach to a battery @Abeyancer

Not that I'd need to perform such a repair often, but it'd be small/light enough to just leave in the Land Cruiser.

I shudder at the welds I made on my camry subframe... welding through literal grease than having liquid rubber pour into the weld as I'm going than stopping and starting to put the fire out... disgusting

but it's a wrecked 96 camry... as long as it's one piece

Forgot about the one corner that had the hand loading bench setup so add gun powder to the mix haha. It wouldve been too much work to keep everything safe enough to weld in there since it was my dads place and he wanted it setup the way he wanted. Also between him and seeing a few industrial accidents firsthand I guess I have more of a safety mindset than some. My house just has the carport and Id be fine welding stuff up in there but like I said, I really have no need to anymore.

Okay that last one is actually a fair excuse. I'm not welding near open powders and shit. A single spark actually will do something to that, at least it would be over quick.

Cut a slit in it with a angle grinder with a cutoff wheel than split the nut with a chizzel

You just reminded me I need to research fire extinguishers for the new place. I have a fire extinguisher mounted in both trucks now. Need to get some in the house and garage. Old rental house had them mounted already.
