Honestly I think the most towing capacity I'll ever need can be get with a Sequoia or a Tundra. I just want to tow a good enclosed trailer or a 20" Boat boat no problem.

What do your parents think of you clogging up their driveway/garage? My folks would never let it happen. I wont own a 2nd vehicle until I own a house.

 

As long as the Merc goes in the garage, they don't really care. The Tacoma has been parked outside since 1997.

 

Really, 200,000 on mine. Pulls a camper and gets abused by a 17yr old daily. No trans issues, kid goes thru brake pads tho.. But 10,000lb truck and kid thinks it's a race car

 

My dad got livid when I came home with a 30 gallon air compressor. 2 cars must go in the garage which means I am out of space, and my toolbox is stuffed to the gills. So no more tools or anything until I get my own place.

 

Stick with a 1st gen sequioa and your fine. 4.7l and solid trans. Get one with the tow package and has the coolers and fan clutch already. And there's a few company's that make armour for them

Added bonus to sequioa, pull out 3rd row seats, flip 2nd row and fits a full size airbed nicely

 

That's why I'm thinking of an SUV. My parents regretted giving away the Pathfinder for the Tacoma.
