I don't know, you aren't driving the trailer so I don't think it needs any insurance. I've never done anything special for towing and ubaul doesn't warn you about it. But it's probably a question for your insurance if you're worried about it. Been pulled over while towing and never had an officer ask for trailer insuramce

 

Maybe I worded that badly. Let's say I'm towing a trailer, and someone hits and runs into my trailer while it is being towed, would my tow vehicle insurance cover that?

Every time I rent from U-Haul I always would buy their liability coverage.

 

I'm not good at welding.

Do you know if a 1st gen Tacoma steering rack can be used in a 3rd gen 4runner? Is there a difference in tie rods or anything else?

 

Usually when someone runs into you their insurance covers it or the portion of your insurance dedicated to uninsured motorists does. But again ask your insurance provider, uhual covers their trailers through their own insurance company that may be very nonstandard

My brother works for Geico as a claims adjuster and they paid for him to take welding classes so that he could better recognize good/bad welding jobs on repairs. Told him he'd have to teach me but unfortunately he's all the way up in Bend, OR

 

OTREs are different but the rest of the rack is the same

 

No kidding. That’s fascinating about the welding coverage in insurance claims. Would’ve never thought.

 

Neither am I. I welded together a table to practice welding scraps together. Just need time practicing. Helps if you have a friend that is aroundwith setting initial wire speed and voltage.

That's a good point, I kinda developed an arbitrary feel for it but it was tough when I was new

 

That was the biggest help for me. Having a reference point setting. Then able to adjust as needed with different thicknesses.

 

Taking the Z heads to the shop today. Cruiser stinks like old oil from them being in there all night :/
