Yeah they're Eibach lowering coils from the late 80s and they're decent. But the strut nuts are fucked

Have you tryed putting it in rice

 

The car is Japanese, it's made of rice

 

ive used strut compressors to hold the sping and cut the nuts off.
no issues at all. just make sure the strut hat has no load on it.

 

i've had worse than that come right off with a bit of heat

 

I dont have a good torch anymore, just a propane thing that take too long

They're toast anyway, one makes amazing clunking noises that sounds like failing tranny mounts

 

@Empty_Lord out of curiosity how do you tourqe the uca bolt for a 5lug? The engine mount is in the way.

 

Wel got the truck together and driving it around a bit. On my way home the torque converter clutch locked and then stayed locked. Not drivable now since the clutch is engaged 100% of the time. Anyone had his happen to their a340 auto?

 

Idk why but i guess its time for a manual swap...

Most toyota parts are compared to Nissan

 

So, it looks like I won't have time over the holidays to pull my trans to do the new clutch on the new truck.

850 for labor
New Clutch and components, flywheel, and new rear main seal.

That sound good?

 

850 just for labor or does that include parts? Sounds a little steep for just labor, I would think it's only about a 4-5 hr job for them

 

Just labor, I have all parts. The guy comes highly recommended, VERY hard to find reputable guys here on Maui.
