yea I think that housing is a goner, someone gave me a similar looking smitty and I ended up passing it on to someone else

it's a warn? should be able to get parts and it's probably worth saving if you're up to tearing into it. they're not too complicated inside. unwinding the line is annoying lol

I don't want to say it's okay that the gov't is attacking individual owners, it sets a poor precedent for the car modding community. But at the same time, diesel "bros" are some of the worst people on the planet and are poor stewards of vehicle culture toooooo... Funny thing is I went wheeling with a diesel modification company CEO (won't name names) once and he literally told us his customers were some of the dumbest people and he loved them since they'd buy anything with enough loud marketing.

Makes sense to me. I think Honda fart can owners have taken the backseat to diesel owners as the most hated and for decent reason

The 'Diesel owners - ricers of the future' thread on pirate was prophetic.

I don't think any could have forecast RGB rock lights, headlights, 24x14s, and the like, but yeah, it really was a thread for the ages

I still facepalm at this stupid state every time I get behind a truck with no rear license plate. The state just assumes that a large truck with towing capacity will always have a trailer, so it doesn't need a rear plate.

Clearly they didn't have brodozers in mind. All drop hitch, no trailer.

It is a Warn xd9000 looks like parts are very available. I got it for free from a friend for doing leaf spring bushing replacements so I'm willing to put some money into it.
Planing on doing the upgrade control box and on the fence about the synthetic rop. I hear they can freeze up in the winter.

I've not had issues with synth rope, I prefer it. But I cover my winches so they don't just get soaked.

Can see the neoprene cover I stuffed on it

Thanks, Not a bad idea to cover it. I'm going to tear it down tomorrow and regrease it.
Synthetic rop may be a little later down the line.

Mixed bag. If it's cheap enough I'd try welding it

    Cast?

    Pass.

I hated welding cast aluminum so bad; cast is just so dirty and it doesn't take well to heat.

Sounds like I'll cast it in the trash and get the replacement parts!
