those are another one of the weird USAF projects of the 1950s when they basically green lighted every crazy aviation idea anyone had at the time

they were called parasite fighters and hooked onto the wings of giant bombers so they could be dropped off the wings mid-flight and protect the bombers during a run, then reattach themselves to the wings when done.

whole idea didn't last very long because it's kind of stupid really lol.

Can't yet, but it looks like I'll have time starting Monday.

Tomorrow we got the superintendent coming to do our 6 month walk-through or w.e. to follow up and make sure all things are as they should be.

I'll have to run errands to do stuff for the house.

This weekend would be perfect but we've got a fair, as well as a concert (wife's Bday).

So no time until next week! :anonymous:

That's if my sister in law doesn't suddenly buy the stuff I told her to get. She needs spark plugs, camshaft sensor, struts and shocks, pcv valve, and not sure what else done.

I wanna know what their plan was if the bomber got shot down, like was the parasite fighter pilot just effed or what. Didn't have landing gear

I think it never made it past the experimental stage, probably one of a few reasons why

Its amazing how we are happy to help family or friends with there vehicles before finishing our own projects.

I still need to do the needle bearing on my front diff on my 2nd gen but nope, going to help a friend with his suspension instead Saturday.

Big U-Bolt doesn't want you to know this

I've reused mine before but they do tend to stretch, so I usually replace them.

@Speedytech7 and @Wulf and I have had separate conversations about this very thing

We are willing to easily do something that's even more difficult, or requires a bit more labor, without question for others than we would for ourselves.

When it's for someone else, it's fun actually.

When it's for ourselves, it feels like a real chore.

I think we are all guilty of this. I think is 2 reasons 1 we want to work on something new and 2 we want to show off what we know.

That being said any one want to come to Tahoe and pull a needle bearing out of my front diff and do a cab mount chop?

You come here and we'll cut the body, cut the metal to size needed, and weld it up all in one go :welder:
