    If it had one of the 5-speed manuals from the rangers I'd probably still have it.

    Yeah it was memorable.
    Even the guys at the shop I had it towed to were like, you guys don't want to hang around here. The tow was scary too. We ended up taking our surfboard bags off the truck, stuffing clothes in those then bailing on our hotel room at night and walking across the desert for a few hours to a train station and getting to the coast. Went back later for the truck. Haven't been to Barstow since.

    My high school buddy talked about going the other way... swapping the 4.0 from an Explorer into his Bronco II.

    I imagine you could do a nostalgia project on one of those pretty cheap these days.

    @Speedytech7 Another thing I liked about it, now that I think about it, was the visibility. I feel like it had near Discovery II level windows.

    Oh forgot to mention, on the on-ramp this morning a Silver 2nd Gen was pulled over (just before it splits towards the freeway).

    Can clearly see his driveshaft was hanging low.

    Was on my way to school otherwise had it been Fri or a weekend I would've gladly pulled over.

    Shitty way to start the morning. Bet it busted when he stepped on the gas.

    oof that sucks. Was it 4wd? Could get home in 4x4 if he took the rear driveshaft off. Unless more shit blew up when it went out

    Mudflaps were removed so couldn't tell ya; was too dark to really see anything other than the driveshaft hanging below (lifted truck) and all the stickers on the rear glass of his camper shell.

    But yeah going into 4H and getting right off the freeway would've been the first thing I would've done.

    He was there with his hazards on so maybe he was a Prerunner, or was getting tools to pull off the driveshaft so it didn't drag before leaving.

    @Yota X

    Ordered that M100 air filter kit (M60 plus 3 total filters) just now since I forgot to earlier.

    Filling a 5 gallon bucket to do my 5:1 plasma cutting fluid mix.

    534oz is just above the Home Depot border -

    20230125_141735.jpg

    106oz remainder will be the fluid additive.
