yeah if I had the funds for a lot of toys I would definitely want a Samurai on wider axles, the stock ones look like a strong gust would knock them over

    4 run, 2 don't
Think it's common to slightly lengthen the wheelbase for that reason.

Watched too many builds and crawler videos with those little things.

I'll find one on Marketplace for cheap but missing damn near everything; not a project I wanna take on with baby Theo on the way :bananadead:

I'll certainly let you know. That could be a good baseline at least, since another perk of using them is no minimum. I understand not charging hourly, but once you have things dialed and its second nature you could reassess that perhaps? (Especially if you're having to handle things like cleaning up peoples designs etc.)
Or I suppose charge on product run number and size of piece?
It's my first time using them so I'm interested to see how it goes. I'm doing product design for a small company and these are for a slider buckle for a 1/2" width fabric/leather. (1/2" is the smallest, up to 1.5" wide, but I'm starting with the thin ones to test right now.)

They're going for more than I thought. Teens. Used to find em dirt cheap. It'd be fun to have though.

I know it's the market here but it's a bummer there aren't more shorty 4x4 available.
If I ended up with a 2 door JL to play with I might be banned from TW

If it was here locally I would be awfully tempted. Not much more space than my xtra cab though lol.

Yeah individual listings for them are annoying. Going with a known importer makes sense as they're evaluated and brought to their shop/location etc. We have a good JDM one an hour away (https://www.japaneseclassics.com/) as well as a well known Land Rover one in the state. (https://www.cwclassics.com/) I'd buy from either. An auction is a gamble but better than Craigslist.

This 40 pickup is 45 minutes away but even with the "restoration," work, the frame looks heavily painted which is always annoying.

    https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1978-toyota-land-cruiser-fj45-10/

I always go back to how much of a headache it'll be to get parts/work if needed if I got an import.

I’m pretty sure those have the same IFS as a first gen Tacoma. Possible also the same frame as a 3rd gen 4Runner?

I really like their body style though.

Yeah, the US makers actually got some things right with econoboxes for a while. Not much to look at, but they did what they needed to. A friend of mine had a Pontiac G5 that she drove down back roads in Colorado for a long time before finally giving in and buying a Crosstrek. She must have had that car for 10 or 15 years.
