I’m gonna take that trim piece off tomorrow and make sure it’s dry. Was it pooling in the same spots as me originally ?

Yeah I'd have wet back carpet on good rains. Even the fronts if it really dumped or during a hurricane. Collected in those spots in the back under the seat area too

One step forward and ten steps back with this motor reassembly. Still no word back from ToyotaPartsDeal.com on missing parts from a shipment (exhaust studs, starter rebuild kit, etc.).

My 20-100 ft lb Kobalt torque wrench completely broke and won't click anymore. I always store it at it's lowest torque value and honestly barely use it vs my 250 ft lb model.

Broke a bolt off in the block that retains the oil pump. Was going around in circles torquing the bolts to 31 ft lbs. And randomly during those circles it stopped clicking. Just reset it's torque value and it's still not clicking so it's going in the trash. Just going to call it for the day because anything else I do won't be quality work.

Edit: Probably best I discovered this on something other than the head bolts.

    That's really shitty.

But good call to stop doing any work; biggest mistakes happen when you're angry or frustrated.

I hate chasing water leaks on vehicles. So that was the rear window seal? Can't imagine that's a cheap part. Only real way to chase these leaks sometimes is a constant hose stream and carpet/interior removal. That can turn into a whole weekend ordeal.

Yeah I feel the same, it's one of the most annoying things. It was a bit of a pain because the water would pool in places that didn't immediately make you think of that back window.
Gasket isn't bad, I think it was like $70? I also replaced the sliding window with a single pane while I was at it.

It was dead dead so I must've left something in the AMG before I left for the weekend when I pulled the air boxes out.

NASA wants to bring solar power to the eels, I guess they’re trying to move us on from throwing car batteries into the ocean.
