they are getting brazen in our area. Late last year some lady walking a few small dogs had a coyote run up and grab one off it's leash right there in broad daylight. Neighbor down the street had their older dog taken right out of their gated front yard. Med size dog as I recall

I usually see them on my night walks with Dex after I put Sofia to bed but I don't think they're really looking to mess with him

 

They're really pressed for food if they're approaching a human at all, they're super skittish typically and don't want to confront anything their size or larger.

 

The story last year about a coyote attempting to grab a toddler off the beach was the strangest

Granted this is the A4 that Pacific German built (and put a V6 from an S4 in along with a few RS4 exterior bits) but...matte plastic cladding looks so much better when body matched like this. I know right, pretty fucked up on the parent's part...I mean I know the beach can be pretty loud with the roar of the waves, but I imagine that poor kid was screaming bloody murder and it still took the mom several seconds to even stand up.

we go to the beach fairly often with Sofia and I don't let her out of arms reach, be too easy for a strong wave to knock her off balance and swept in

never really crossed my mind to worry about beach coyotes...seayotes?... but that's a thing now I guess

 

I understand letting them have a little room to explore and play, but not behind you! They're lucky that thing wasn't strong enough to just drag the kid down the beach.
