@Kwikvette I took a picture of this kitchen hood specifically so we can comment on the excellent welds

The 'box' part of it looks all crooked and shit (the sides of it) but at least it's not burned through like those side mounting brackets, god damn

Charger is a universal USB-C so works for my phone, earbuds, and Switch.

Being on the Switch means less time on my phone while we 'wait'

Speaking of welds, Zane says these are the best I’ve ever done haha. Which is saying a lot, because they’re pretty bad.

Lift jack on a friend’s cargo trailer.

Does anyone have experience with these ALH TDI wagons? I’ve been looking at them for a while; I know a respected VW mechanic in Tulsa that sells a lot of them.

Everything about that vehicle is something you couldn't handle. And I mean that in the most honest way possible. You will have nothing but constant complaints with an out of warranty VW

Even with the ALH diesel engine? It seems to have a great reputation. I can deal with cosmetic issues and the like. Are they more problematic than an old Tacoma?

Your truck isn't even problematic, it has problems you refuse to repair. Toyota is the gold standard for quality after warranty, VW doesn't even make the list. Even if that diesel is perfect, and I'm sure it's probably half good for a VW, it WILL have electrical issues cause all VWs do and parts price as well as mechanic hourly WILL be much more expensive because it's a German car.

I have never seen “problematic” and “old Tacoma” used in the same sentence haha. I used to own a 5-lug 1998 Tacoma with the v6 and 5-speed at I sold it at 454,000 miles. I think @Tour991 still sees it often and it’s still going.

yup. I was having some issues with the lady and things are calming down somewhat. Not ideal for me to turn to the bottle in bad times

I'm leery of German cars in general, but I thought maybe the diesels were an exception since they don't need many electronics and are known for their longevity, especially the OM606. But yeah idk it's probably just wishful thinking on my part and it'd end up being a moneypit regardless.

Did you forget the chassis around the Diesel engine is still German?
