Tastes like the stuff I get when I go to Japan. It’s hard to emulate the real McCoy.

I have a non-expired tube I got on eBay for $45. Didn’t realize the new water pumps from Aisin aren’t designed for FIPG now. So I only used it for the coolant crossover pipe.

Yeah the reality is 1993 was 30 years ago and not 10-15 like people think.

I've had to completely replace every hose on a 19-year-old Japanese luxury car 13 years ago. The cost was over $2,000.

One upside to looking at cars this old is that at least some of that kind of stuff would've had to have been done by now for it to still be on the road (unless it's been sitting for years). At least that's the case for pretty much any 98-01 Forester or Outback with over 150,000 miles: at least then you know the head gasket almost certainly has been done haha.

The ES300? That’s probably a wise financial choice.

covers the cost of all the major parts even though a lot of it will need to be checked/re-fabbed

I'd be wary that the axle truss was welded on in proper order with good clamping and penetration but if it was that's a massive win right away, those are stout as hell.

my buddy has a couple dodge front 60s lying around and asked if I wanted to buy one. The thought is that I could have it built and ready before the next time I explode my front axle... They aren't the ideal start and I seem to be incapable of starting another unfinished project anyways.

Granted with a cad delete, gears, and welded diff I'm sure I could make stock axles and u joints last on 37s for "cheap"

So I'm also a dumbass and kept leaving the needle valve open on my gas tank, so I probably lost about 1/3 of the overall tank just sitting there. Good news is there's a Vern Lewis literally 3 miles from me so got a 125cuft refill for only 50 bucks
