It's whatever the VIN plate is physically attached to, in this case the cab and the hood.

If we had a sedan, the entire sedan unibody would be registered to the VIN plate. Everything else is irrelevant.

If I swapped the cab on my PreRunner, it would carry whatever VIN and plates the donor cab had.

So if it were built right it would be a problem other than being time consuming

If I was your parents I would have called pick n pull and had that shit towed away. This is how dogs get put to sleep wait till the kids are at school and poor ole buster get hauled in . Except the pick n pull money will buy a nice dinner at Applebee's, Buster's carcass not so much.

It's about $1,200 to ship it from Hayward, CA to Elk Grove, IL. Essentially if I sell it to you for $3k, I'd be loosing money.
