I’m pretty sure there is, I’ve come across it in the Toyota FSM. It’s like a mini little blast detonator for like building explosions.

Was Toyota affected by the Takata recall?

yes. we dont touch those. they get sent back to toyota. theres special things we do to help ensure they dont detonate

 

Well of course locks, but what kind of locks? I’m looking at hitch locks, and most of them seem rather ineffective. The good ones that lock the safety chain, cover the entire hitch, and use a puck lock are well over $200.

I was thinking of adding a boot to the wheels too. I’m not so worried about the door, it seems pretty secure if I add an Abloy puck lock.

 

take the wheels off. its hard to steal if it doesnt roll

 

I welded a ubolt to the frame of the trailer and I run a chain through the wheels and bolt to keep if from going anywhere and I have a hitch lock that goes into the ball area and of course i lock the usual ball lock too

 

What kind of hitch lock are you using?

 

I dunno, ill take a look next time, think its made by trimex

I probably worded that badly. Your trailer has brakes, I presume?

 

Here’s the one I was looking at, it locks the safety chains too since thieves can just steal it with the chains connected to their bumper. This is a full cover one.

The guy in the video I watched made a good point, a $20 lock gives you $20 protection.

Yeah it has brakes

 

Again I have my wheels locked together and to the frame so I'm not worried about someone braking all of that then the two tongue locks as well. Don't spend more on the locks than the trailer is worth, theft is about ease.

 

Chaining the wheels to the frame is clever.
