Part of me wants a 4th Gen 4R.

I want a V8 but don't want that V8.

Mainly for my wife to drive but something else I can use too.

 

those 4runner v8s are supposed to be pretty bullet proof aren't they?

 

They can be and are, but there are better power plants out there that I've owned.

But yeah I'd still take it over the V6 mainly for the little extra torque.

Stephanie wants another car, and being realistic I told her the current one is worth more to keep as an around town car versus selling it.

Problem is my MIL has asked when am I picking up the Ferd so having a 4th vehicle (if she got one) would make parking suck.

 

yeah especially with one of those vehicles being that behemoth of a Ford lol

The Ford should satisfy your torque needs though

 

you just really want to be part of the 4runner gang again, it's ok to miss it

 

The F350 is a 4 door long bed....I don't want to daily that thing.

It'll be the dump run or materials pick up vehicle, strictly utility use. Although it's definitely smooth driving, I don't want to be parking that bitch everywhere.

What's the 4th gen torque for v6? I know the 5th is like 280...might be able to find early 5th gens for ok prices versus v8 4th?

 

Yeah the 5th gens aren't my favorite either, not awful when they are modified a bit but I'd take a 4th gen over the 5th aesthetics-wise

 

Been thinking about trading in the Rav for a 5th gen

 

Speaking of dumb stuff, it irks me when I see someone use a spare tire as a driving wheel but to see spares on all 4s?

 

Rebecca is looking at the newer Sequoia, trading in her Rav toward it. So we have a bigger family vehicle. Not sure how I feel about those, they are...bulky. At least it's the hybrid version though so it won't be abysmal on gas like Sequoias have been known for

 

Sienna would net better gas mileage

 

my sister and bro in law got a used hybrid Sienna recently....those captain seats in the front and middle look comfy AF, I will admit lol

But Rebecca is way more against the idea of a minivan than even I am so that won't happen

At this point you couldn't pay me to buy a new Toyota suv, with the refreshed 4Runner and LC Prado coming in, both apparently slotting in underneath the Sequoia. Gonna be an interesting lineup if true. Sequoia is a giant. I'm seeing them pop up and I don't hate em, but man they aren't subtle. Mazda CX-9 would be a nice 3 row...
