I've always hated it cause it doesn't matter that I cover my mouth and turn away, in a public setting people always go turning to look at me

    COVID? Forget about it

@eon_blue Couldn't find any suspect hoses, no hissing, nothing loose, etc., cleaned MAF and so far code hasn't come back after a 30-45 minute drive. We'll see. :fingerscrossed:

Before: "I don't want to have cars that I use a laptop to work on."
Currently: Deciding which cheap Thinkpad I prefer that can take some licks and I don't care about getting dirty + pricey VW/Audi group software and hardware + rolling laptop cart, etc.
    Embracing modernity.....slowly.

Used Dell Latitude. I stopped relying on Lenovo stuff, it's gotten really bad since Chinese buyout. You can still find Latitude 7300 pretty cheap and they're great.

Shit, good call, I kind of forget about Dell and I shouldn't. My Lenovo P14s has been fine but man it's not built like the old ones at all.
(I do want a matte screen though, or at least the ability to swap one in on whatever I get)

I got weirdly good technical support from the random Amazon company that makes my driveway gate openers. One of them doesn't always open super well when it is hot out and they had me measure a few things with a multimeter and then told me if I was willing to use a big resistor instead of having them send me a new control board they would give me a few more remotes for free. Figured since the resistor pack on the control board is all that needs changing I don't mind that and I needed more remotes anyway. Good deal, now I don't have to remount and change everything

My Latitude 7300 that I use for tuning has a matte touch screen with awesome color response and it is FHD despite being 13.3" screen

@Speedytech7 Some Ruggeds in Dell outlet, I don't feel like spending for my use case, but it'd be nice to throw across the driveway if I get annoyed haha

Sounds great, thanks. I'll get looking. 13" would be fine if not ideal.

I just like being able to stow it in a seatback pocket when I'm not actively using it, nice because it has the regular Dell round charge receptacle but it also has USB C charging too so I can charge it off the cig lighter if need be with my phone charge cord.

Hemorrhoid rage sounds like a good way to Elvis Presley yourself.
