    people like putting the 2.7s in older Toyota trucks and upgrading the 2.4s to 2.7s even so its not much of an upgrade. I still have that v6 sitting at my house 4 months later.

    Changed the oil in my dads 2nd gen. That 4.0 has gotta be the easiest motor to change the oil on.

    it is pretty nice compared to the 1st gen oil filter locations... dont worry though, the 2tr 2.7 still has a shit filter placement

    I've always thought the 3.4 was easy too...the oil filter is easy enough to grab and twist through the wheel well, just have to unsnap the mud guards.

    But the 1GR is probably the closest Ill ever get to a mess free oil change. A water bottle is all you need to catch the excess oil out of the filter. Toyota even designed it that way with the little nipple on the bottom of the filter housing.

    Th 3RZ is cake and it doesnt leak all over the engine like the 5VZ

    I just had my 2.4 top end rebuilt 3 years ago it runs great and i'm getting 24 mpg as a 4x4 pushing 265 75 16s with 410s. its also going to be my daily driver this winter 50 miles a day. my 2014 4.0 gets around 18 mpg on 285s

    (I haven’t gotten more than 15 mpg on my truck a dmy dads only gets 20-22 on the highway)

    some how i'm getting great mileage i think being a 2.4 not a 2.7 helps
