Whats up with that rusty ass window AC unit? That 1.1 home didn't come with AC? Central air is a must have, even on the bay shoreline

Need to PAY @Sperrunner to take care of that

A lot of people on the coast here in LA don't have a/c...I know most apartments in our bay area don't come with it, maybe a window unit. My brother's place only had a window unit in the living room.

It never got too hot out there though and they usually had the ocean breeze to cool the place down, but in the summer time there'd always be the inevitable heat wave and they'd be miserable for that time period.

I deal with a lot more heat being inland, but I have that sweet, sweet central air unit and utilities covered in my rent :bananadance:

Sorry, guess you SoCal folks are used to it. It's always hot these days. For me if its over 80, the AC is kicking in. 10 years ago, nope - no issue. 5 o'clock rolled around and the breeze off the bay was enough. No longer. Had central air installed 3 years ago, Love IT.

This fucking gasket is bothering me, 30 years made it part of the aluminum. See if soaking it in PB helps at all.

    The gap is gone.

But it wasn’t my little rigging contraption that fixed it. I put so much tension on it, I bent the brackets on the bottom and stripped the threads on the turnbuckle.

It turns out when I jacked up the door to make it straight, it fixed it.

Back to the drawing board. It’s goinf to sag again. I don’t know what happened.

You could probably put in on a reddit page or something and watch all the memes be made for you.

That’s my room. We have the hookups for it, but the house is so big we need two units. We were quoted $12,000 for it.

We just live without it, it’s only hot one week out of the year.

I'm gonna give it a go, the gasket is pretty thick so that should help if it isn't perfect
